An emergency stop push button is a safety device which is often used on heavy duty machinery and other devices within the industrial sector.

They are an important feature for devices because when they are compressed, the power to the device is immediately cut.

Our emergency stop push button switches are part of our safety footswitch range. They can either be incorporated as part of the footswitch on ground level – activated with the foot, or as a pole handle, activated by hand.

Why Emergency Stop Push Buttons are Important

Emergency stop push button switches are an important safety feature within various environments. There are two main reasons that it would be required to used one;

Machine malfunction – If a machine is defective or is malfunctioning there must be a way to cut the power and stop the machine immediately. The emergency stop switch is large and easy to press at a moment’s notice – it is often easier to locate at short notice than the “on/off” switch for the device.

Injury Prevention – In a busy environment, if a person gets in the way of a machine it is important that there is a means of cutting power to the machine. An emergency stop switch, in this instance, will help prevent injury to anyone who is in danger.
