We have a range of footswitches with guards. Some are built-in whilst others are an optional add-on which we may recommend based on the application they are being used for

Guards are a popular addition to many of our footswitches, for this reason, we have some guards which can be used with a range of our switches meaning most of our footswitch have a guard option available. 

Benefits of Using Footswitches with Guards

Footswitches with guards are selected for use because;

They protect the user - although they are not guaranteed to prevent injury, a footswitch with a guard can offer some added user protection in an industrial environment where there is a risk of something falling on the switch. They protect the footswitch - a guard can also act as a barrier to the switch meaning it does not get pressed by accident. For this purpose, we have our Latching Safety Guard which can be folded on top of the switch to prevent unintentional actuation. 

There are some applications, for example; Laser Operation, where using a footswitch with a guard is a standard requirement, so it’s worth bearing this in mind when selecting footswitches for such applications.
